Juno

For Halloween I went to work as Juno. I had an orange stripped shirt with a brown hoodie and jeans with a skirt over carrying a Sunny-D bottle. Oh and ofcourse I am pregnant :) People had no clue who i was dispite also having a "hello my name is Juno". People just told me i had a cute outfit on! OK, the average age at work is probably 45- but gesh Ellen Page is from Halifax, hasnt everyone seen the movie?

baby talk

Well, it is only 2 weeks until I go to UCBaby and find out the gender. I am thinking boy but secretly hoping girl (although of course healthy baby is key!). Jeff said he doesnt care if it is a girl or boy - either are going to have Babys first wrench and rachet LOL. People have been so nice giving us their old baby items- they say they are happy to get it out of their house LOL. I will take it for sure. I have now gained over 35 lbs and still have 3 months to go! My mom gained 80lbs with one of her babies - crazy eh. I am still going to karate (just taking it easy) and self defence class, and Jeff and I have been trying to go for walks, but it is easy to just sit on the couch as I have also been doing band (but put down the pipes for now) a few times a week. I am a busy girl!

When i went to my OBGYN apt after the spotting the doctor was really angry that I didnt go to the hospital right away. I told her I did call her office and nothing to be alarmed with but she said becuase I am RH- i needed a shot within 3 days. This scared me. I went to the hospital right away. The babys heart is still nice and strong and all the tests were fine, so I felt better. Phewwwww. Being pregnant is wonderful, beautiful but my gosh it is stressful!!!!!

scare

On Thursday I had a scare. First thing in the morning and went to the washroom and was spotting. Not a lot, not enough to wear a pad but I was still very nervous- especially after googling spotting in the second trimester! Dang that google, why do I do that to myself? I called my OBGYN that morning and she said that it is not uncommon, that it was better the blood was pink and not red, and that its good there is no cramps. She said if I would like I can go to the IWK to the early delivery section and have an examination or if I wait and find that I have any more symptoms then go over for sure. I didnt have any more spotting or any cramps AND the baby woke up (after chocolate bribing) so I decided just to take it easy and see if anything else happened. The OBGYN said it could have been numerous things that produced the small amount of blood - I did have a massage and soaked in a bath the night before, but who knows. Perhaps it was that blood sac they found back in the first trimester.

I will take it easy this weekend :)

boy?

So most people, incluing the costco lady, thinks I am having a boy. LOL, I was hoping for a girl for my first but of course a healthy boy will be totally exciting too. I am going to do UCBaby to tell the gender. The baby has been doing well, and me too. I have lots of energy and am helping out with the womens self defense course and karate and have joined a pipe band to help me along. I did cry the other night when Jeff told me he was going to PC earlier then I am. I am in a constant battle. I am in alot of activities and work all day, so Jeff is bored and his friends and family have a never ending list of things they need help with. He needs to make some friends here, especially people who will go ATVing.

Boo for Jeff being unemployed again but I am hoping he goes back soon.

Back into it!

Well today was the first day of karate. It was a busy morning as we set up for a garage sale with Jeffs mom (turned out to be a train wreck) and then I went to karate. It was a great workout, and I definitely did NOT overdo it. I am pretty out of shape from not doing much this summer. I am helping out with the kids class again and they are super cute!

After class I came home and found the garage sale was a bust but it was nice to spend alone time with Jeff. Last week we had company, then a dinner party last night and his mom and her boyfriend. So quality time was well deserved. That being said, Jeff just left for PC. LOL, he is going to a friends place while i decide if I want to go. It will be a big drunk fest so I am thinking of staying home and working on my baby quilt.

Tomorrow I am starting in a new pipe band. It is clan Thomposon and is based out of Pictou County. I am not a good bag piper though, so hope there are others at my level that I can play with. I have ben taking lessons a while but noone at my level to help encourage and push me. I am super nervous though. Also it means a drive to PC every sunday, but honestly that isn't too much of a stretch.

Sigh, I love Saturdays!

Problem

So I have a problem. Pre-pregnancy I would be able to sleep through anything. Jeff was in an accident 10 years ago that left his back in a mess. He cant lay down for more then 6 hours at a time. I like to sleep a lot. Before, Jeff would like down with me, then when I fell asleep he would get up for a few hours then come back to bed. However, now I wake up with ever move. If he doesnt lay down with me, he stays up till 3am and wakes me up when he comes to bed- or when I have to go to the bathroom and he isnt there I wake up fully! arg! I was always worried that I wouldnt wake up to my baby crying - but I am pretty sure that I will now. Is my body just adjusting?

the ultrasound - beanie doesnt look like a bean

WOW yesterday was the ultrasound. Jeff was able to make it, thankfully. Although I was the only one in the whole waiting room with my husband with me! The whole thing took over an hour, but it was amazing. The first picture we saw was the baby just kicking on my blatter- I have to pee all the time anyway but with the baby kicking there, no wonder I am going ever 1/2 hour! We got to see all of his/her facial features, little arms and legs, even the blatter and kidneys. Yup, the baby even peed while we were watching LOL, thats my baby! It took us a long time to be able to get a good view of the heart. The baby curled all up, and then gave us what looked to be the finger - too funny. Definitely related to Jeff. As there were major heart problems on Jeffs side I have a fetal echocardio in two weeks which will just monitor the heart rate- but it looked steady and strong yesterday. Beanie was 1lb and growing just right. The ultrasound said I was at 21 weeks, not 20 weeks 3 days, but they also said there is an error rate of +/- 14 days LOL. Very accurate.

It is so crazy to think this little guy is inside of me, growing so perfectly. Just amazing. Wonderful day!
